18th Century Encampment & Muster

  • Thomas Smith House 251 North West Street Feeding Hills, MA, 01030 United States (map)

In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Shot Heard Round the World, and the call to arms responding to the 19 April 1775 battles of Lexington and Concord, members of the 25th Continental Regiment and Green Valley Homestead reenactment groups will establish an 18th century encampment & muster at the Thomas Smith House.

The day’s events will include children’s activities, demonstrations of blacksmithing, tinsmithing, open fire cooking, textile arts, and musket drills. Attendees will be able to “volunteer” for military service and drill with the 25th Continental Regiment, who will provide instruction with wooden muskets.

The National Register-listed Thomas Smith House, which had been standing for nearly two decades when the events being commemorated took place, will be open for tours, as well its preserved 1920s garage.

This event is free and open to the public and will be held RAIN OR SHINE.
